This is a review for the Honey Bear Kids Camp held at the campground. My children just finished their first week at camp and it was a great experience. It seems it was a great mix of outdoor time, free play, and some structured activities and lessons. One of my kids loves structured group activities and the other one is more of a free spirit that likes his independence, and they both had a great time and often didn’t want to leave at the end of the day. I think the counselors did a wonderful job creating an environment that would appeal to a diverse set of kids.

we stayed there twice. Once when my Grandson graduated with his bachelors at App State. That was May of 2014. The site we stayed in was nice but was so bad out of level that I just had to keep putting blocks under the right front wheel of my motor home to get the automatic levelers to work properly. I complained about it and the answer was that they had the road bond and gravel to level all the sights.

It was a very nice campground and they had friendly staff. Abby, Carly, and Avery were extremely helpful, understanding, and welcoming! Unfortunately, it was pouring down rain when we arrived and our group had small kids & 2 dogs so we decided we could not set up and stay. While they could not offer me a refund, (the campground does not control the weather!!) Abby did offer me coffee on the house. Abby makes great coffee! We will definitely stay there next time we are through Boone, and hope it is sunny as we so wished we could have stayed! We are excited to stay in the future just for the coffee and staff!!

Amazing staff. We couldn't find any place to camp that night. Honey bear campground staff accommodated us at the very last minute. Beautiful location. They provide firewood for a very minimal charge. Restrooms are very well maintained. They have on site coffee shop. Plenty of fun activities for kids. Definitely recommended!

In May 2015 when y grandson graduated with his Masters I called them and asked if they had leveled the sights and they told me yes. We camped at the same sight and low and behold none of the sights had been leveled and the piles of gravel and road bond was still there. Also my wife became sick that night so we had to leave a day early. They would not refund my money for that one day because of an emergency. Just leaving early is one thing but for sickness is another. I will not stay there again unless there has been some great changes made. I have another Grandson that will be graduating in 2 years and I would like to stay a little closer to the collage than Vander pool campground which is where we have stayed several times over Labor Day weekend.

It's always been a family favorite. It's quiet at night, kids running around playing and having fun during the day... Great coffee house, wonderful and caring staff. There's a duck pond and a peacefully flowing stream. We always camp on the 3rd weekend of September when they host the Bourbon, Bacon, and Brew festival. Friday nights, the kids get to have a dance party, and Saturday nights are family movie nights. All in all, it's just a wonderful family campground!
